Remember, you can always open a lower version file in a higher version platform. But to open a higher version file in lower version, you have to do this:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In InDesign CC, click <strong>save &gt; export to IDML (InDesign Markup Language)<\/strong> or\u00a0<strong>File &gt; Save As IDML<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In Illustrator, when you <strong>save<\/strong> the file and the the <strong>Illustrator Options <\/strong>dialogue pop out, you can choose Illustrator CS 6 or CS 5 or lower in the <strong>versions <\/strong>drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li>In Photoshop, go to <strong>preferences<\/strong>&gt; <strong>file handling<\/strong>, and check <strong>Maximize PSD and PSB file compatibility.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Q: Seeing error &#8220;fonts missing&#8221; when\u00a0packinging\u00a0Illustrator file.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A:<\/strong>\u00a0Illustrator CC has the new package function. But sometime you may see an error saying it can&#8217;t not package the fonts. If you are using a font from the Internet, you need to drag the <strong>.ttf<\/strong> or <strong>.otf<\/strong> downloaded font file into the<strong> fonts<\/strong> folder of your Illustrator package. If you are using a system font, you need to go to system =&gt; Fonts to copy the<strong> .ttf, .ttc, or .dfont<\/strong> file. Every time you want to edit the pakage in a new computer, you need to install those fonts in the font folder first, <strong>BEFORE<\/strong> opening the .ai file.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Can&#8217;t print on a 11*17 paper.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A:<\/strong>\u00a0Export the file as pdf or jpeg =&gt; open the pdf or jpeg in the Mac viewer =&gt; click print =&gt; in the pop-up window, click <strong>show details<\/strong>, go to<strong> paper size<\/strong> in the drop-down menu choose <strong>tabloid<\/strong>.
